I went to the dentist today.
Yea for me! NOT!
I am having corrective and pre-prep work done to prepare for Invisalign and professional whitening.
Today’s visit involved a big long needle that numbed the left side of my face. Geez! Did I mention I do NOT like needles? Well I don’t! In fact, when that needle was coming at me (and trust me its really long and scary looking) I had to close my eyes and pretend I was on vacation somewhere exotic. Which did not work for very long.
They are drilling out anything that is old (I have old fillings since I was like 7) and replacing them with white fillings. One main molar has to be replaced with a crown, as some previous dentist believed in filling one tooth with multiple fillings instead of just removing it and putting in a crown. That molar is so bad that when they were going to drill it out today the dentist stated “If I drill that tooth it will completely crack and we will have no choice but to put in a crown today”. Nice!
I have to go back sometime this year and get that whole molar redone. Oh and did I mention that because my fillings are so old I have metal in them that can seriously hurt me/my body if they ever crack or break and I swallow them? Yep, this was not simply a vain thing, even though the thought of having a pretty smile until I am 100 appeals to me. 🙂
Stay tuned as sometime in the future I will have Invisalign, all white teeth, and an even prettier smile.
So…I guess you have to pay the price of drills and big long needles!
